Alien: Resurrection is a 1997 American science fiction action horror film directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet and written by Joss Whedon. It is the fourth installment in the Alien film series, and was filmed at the 20th Century Fox studios in Los Angeles, California. Starring Sigourney Weaver as Ellen Ripleythe film received mixed reviews from film critics. Ridley Scott had announced that he will do Alien 5 after the Prometheus sequel Alien: Covenant (originally titled Alien: Paradise Lost) and Sigourney weaver has signed on to reprise her role.
