Daybill Poster. The Hunter is a 1980 American action crime drama thriller film directed by Buzz Kulik. The film was Steve McQueen's (The Magnificent Seven) final role released August 1st before his death in November of that year. The cast also features Eli Wallach (The Magnificent Seven), Ben Johnson (The Getaway), Kathryn Harrold (Raw Deal), LeVar Burton (Roots TV Series) and Richard Venture (Airport 77). This was the last theatrical film made by director Buzz Kulik.
