Asta Cadell, a city barrister, is touring the outback alone when she is forced to stay in a small, isolated town awaiting the arrival of spare parts for her disabled motorbike.  Determined to be on her way as soon as the repairs are completed, her mind is changed when she uncovers the town scandal which relates to the date rape of a young girl.Asta persuades the young girl to press charges against the boy but the local population becomes determined to keep the incident a secret at any cost and soon Asta and the girl's lives are in danger.
