What we sell:
Posters
Australian Daybill posters
1920's -1941...14" x 40" with a border at the top for screening details.
1942 - 1980's...13"x 30" folded twice as issued to the cinema.
1980's - 13"x 26" sometimes folded but more recently they tend to be rolled and smaller in size.
Australian Daybill size posters are great for framing and do not need large amounts of wall space for display.
Australian and USA One Sheet posters
Size: Typically 27" x 41" in size before 1985; 27" x 40" in size after 1985
Type: Printed on paper stock. Pre-1985 posters are usually folded; post-1985 posters are usually rolled.
This size poster is very collectible due to their size. The larger the poster the harder it is for it to stay in one piece. They are almost always originals or re-releases to the cinemas. Examples are Gone with the Wind or Star Wars.
Reproduction One Sheet Posters
Are re-creations of an original movie poster. Reproductions are usually lower in price. One sheet reproduction posters are generally 27" x 40" in size but these measurements are not always precise. The exact width of a reproduction poster ranges from 25.75" to 27", and the exact height varies from 36" to 40".
Lobby Cards - Australian And U.S.A.
Size: 11" x 14" (standard), 8" x 10" (mini), 14" x 17" (jumbo)
Type: Original items, printed in colour on heavy card stock. Lobby cards can be priced by the set or individually.
Lobby Card sets were issued to cinemas as another alternative in promoting the film showing. Each set had 8 cards that were numbered with a different scene appearing on each card. Older sets usually were printed on heavier and more durable stock and displayed the film credits. Lobby Card sets are being made in fewer numbers these days and so are becoming very collectible. The sets that do get made for today's films are often on not as durable stock and do not always come with the film credits at the bottom. They tend also to vary in quantity per set. Some sets can have up to 19 cards while others will have 10.Lobby Card sets are very popular as not a lot of room is needed to store or display them. They are economical to frame and offer more of an insight into the film with the different scenes.
Press Books/Sheets
Press books were first used in the 1910s, and are still widely used today. They are part of the press kit, and contain information a studio chooses to release about a particular film. These are original items and were designed for members of the press and cinema industry to use as a tool in promoting the film. Often they will discuss the stars, their characters and locations involved in the storyline. Sometimes they will make a mention what marketing material is available for a cinema to use although this is no longer is included in present day versions.
DVDs
Australian DVD’s (Region 04) and Videos (PAL format)
DVD Region Encoding
There are currently 6 global region codes that identify specific DVDs that are compatible with the players typically sold in that region. The majority of all current titles play in only one specific region unless otherwise noted. All of the DVDs sold by All About Movies are encoded for Region 4 only and may not work on DVD players in other countries. Listed below are the six regions.
1. USA, Canada, and Bermuda
2. Japan, Europe, South Africa, and the Middle East, including Egypt
3. Southeast Asia, East Asia, including Hong Kong
4. Australia, New Zealand, Pacific Islands, Mexico, Central America, South America, and the Caribbean
5. Former Soviet Union, Indian subcontinent, Africa, North Korea, and Mongolia

Videos
International VHS Formats
All of the videos sold by allaboutmovies.com.au are in the PAL format. This is the video format used in Australia, UK, Europe, China, and parts of the Middle East. This format will not work on most videocassette players in other countries that use NTSC. This includes America & Canada unless the player you have plays both PAL as well as NTSC. Videos are essentially no longer available new here in Australia as our data base indicates. However, we do operate our out of print service for guaranteed secondhand Video Movies that have not gone to DVD of which there are plenty.
